Unlike traditional dental jewelry, which is glued or taped to the tooth, tooth gems are bonded to the tooth with the same adhesive and resin used for dental fillings. This makes them much more secure, and they can last an average of 3 months with proper care. Best of all, the procedure is completely reversible, as the adhesive and resin can be polished away at any time. Your tooth is never damaged or altered. Preparing for your Tooth Gem Appointment
1. Arrive with Clean Teeth
Please brush and floss before your appointment. A clean surface helps your gem adhere better and last longer!
2. Skip the Whitening
Avoid whitening treatments or toothpaste for at least 24 hours before your appointment. We want your enamel to be in its most natural state for best results.
3. No Lipstick or Gloss
Keep your lips clean and bare—no lipstick, gloss, or balm. This helps us work comfortably and keeps everything hygienic.
4. Eat Before You Come
You won’t be able to eat or drink for about 30 minutes after your gem is applied, so grab a snack beforehand if you need to!
5. Know What You Want
Have an idea of what style or gem placement you love? Bring inspiration photos or let us help you pick the perfect sparkle to match your vibe.
6. Relax and Have Fun
The process is quick, safe, and totally non-invasive—just sit back, relax, and get ready to shine!
After care
- Do not eat for 2-4 hours after gem application.
- Do not brush for the following 12 hours.
- Soft foods for the following 24 hours. Not to drink alcohol or acidic or bubbly drinks for the following 24 hours. If needed use a straw.
- Floss accordingly and carefully around gem(s) as well as brushing.
- Do not eat hard foods. No apples, tough meats, sharp snacks.
- Do not pick at gem or touch.
Tooth gems are applied with professional dental adhesives and composites used for braces, gems, or other dental necessities. Tooth gems last 3 months to 2 years if taken care of properly.
We have a one month warranty. If a gem falls within the first month client is able to come back and reapply at no cost.
